We have been helping folks use computers for forty years—even before the internet—working in a college computer lab as "user consultants"—making the machines less scary to people who didn't know how to use them, but needed to learn. There is still a need for this in the outside world. We still teach basic web skills, how to use operating systems, and how to use apps. Folks still need to know, and the folks who build machines and software still don't remember what it was like to not-know and be a newbie.
